About Alison
Alison came to Carroll County in 2000 as a student teacher at Westminster High School and never left. She fell in love with the area, the community, and the teacher across the hall. Alison and her husband Eric have been married since 2002. They are the proud parents of two students who attended Carroll County Public Schools K-12. Their youngest will graduate from Winters Mill this spring, shortly after their oldest graduates from American University.
Alison worked in various teaching roles in CCPS on and off for ten years, taking many years off in between to stay home with her kids. She’s also worked in the Carroll County non-profit and small business communities, most recently co-owning Rudolph Girls Books with her sister, Nikki Rhodes-Whaley.
Regardless of job, Alison has always been a passionate supporter of public education, small businesses, and community service. She is currently an adjunct faculty member in the English Department at McDaniel College.
In her free time, Alison loves reading, watching her son play “sportsball” (Varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball), visiting her daughter in DC, and raising her family’s three beloved rescue dogs.
